Bring your first egg home

1. Start with an egg close to home

   Your first trip ends when the egg reaches your base. Find the way home before you open the sea, then choose a nearby egg. You can try a longer trip once you know how the pickup and return feel.

2. Charge the staff and open the sea

   In MoreNizarisaqt's October 1 video, 00:16 to 00:58, he charges the staff, opens the sea and picks up a basic egg. Radex Tips shows a hold-and-release action at 00:13 to 00:32 in his October 1 guide. Follow the prompt on your screen; these clips don't cover the controls for every device.

3. Turn back after the pickup

   While you're learning the route, take one egg and head straight home. The pickup uses part of the opening time, too. If you lose the egg, think about where the trip went wrong: the opening, the distance, the pickup or the way back.

4. Hatch the egg at base

   Nizar returns to base and hatches the egg in the same opening sequence. The game description says animals earn cash. Once yours hatches, check that it's in your base and look at its displayed rate. The video doesn't give you a guaranteed animal or rarity.

5. Check what actually hatched

   At 02:46 to 03:25 in FoltynPlays' September 30 video, a Bat Egg hatches into a koala. An egg's name alone doesn't tell you exactly what you'll get. That one hatch also doesn't give us the odds for other animals.

6. Pick an upgrade for the next trip

   Nizar buys training equipment and tries again after his first hatch. Training, staff, speed and carry help with different parts of a run, so work out what slowed you down before spending. His later run includes paid boosts; you may take longer without them.
